Jeffrey R. Armstrong, Chairman

​Mr. Jeffrey R. Armstrong serves as the Chairman of MID-SHIP Group and MID-SHIP Capital LLC. He is also the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Zenith Energy. Prior to founding Zenith Energy, Jeff worked as Head of Corporate Strategy for Kinder Morgan Inc. Before Jeff’s role as Head of Corporate Strategy he served as President of Kinder Morgan Terminals for 12 years. Under Jeff’s leadership, Kinder Morgan Terminals grew to become the largest independent owner and operator of liquids and bulk terminals in North America, with 40 liquids terminals, 82 bulk terminals, and 10 transload facilities. Jeff’s previous experience includes General Manager of East Coast Operations at GATX and Maritime Overseas Corp.  Armstrong received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame and his BS in Marine Transportation from the US Merchant Marine Academy.

Dean Fezza, CEO

Prior to Co-founding MID-SHIP Capital, Mr. Fezza was a Senior Vice President with HSH Nordbank, responsible for growth and management of the bank’s shipping and offshore oilfield services exposure in North and South America.  Mr. Fezza worked at J.P. Morgan from 2007 through 2012, most recently as a Vice President in their Global Corporate Bank.  Mr. Fezza started his career at Booz Allen Hamilton, where over a five year period he advised both public and private sector clients on operational improvements and growth strategies, with a focus on supply chain management.  Mr. Fezza received his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, an MSc in Transportation Policy, Operations & Logistics from George Mason University, and a BSc in Marine Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. 

Carl Rasmussen, Managing Director

Prior to co-founding MID-SHIP Capital, Mr. Rasmussen was the head of HSH Nordbank’s Americas Shipping & Offshore team where he oversaw the bank’s client relationships, deal origination efforts and maritime exposure in the Americas. Previously Mr. Rasmussen was a co-founder and partner at Cambridge Global Capital Partners and Bridge Maritime where he advised shipowners and capital providers on debt and equity-related shipping transactions. Prior to this, Mr. Rasmussen was a Director in the Special Situations Group of Deutsche Bank where he established a platform to invest capital in the shipping and offshore oil service sectors. Mr. Rasmussen started his financial career at Dutch merchant bank MeesPierson, which was later acquired by Fortis Bank, in their shipping and offshore team where he worked from 1997 until 2007.  Mr. Rasmussen sailed for 5 years as a licensed marine engineer aboard U.S. Flag merchant ships. Mr. Rasmussen received an MBA from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business and a BSc in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

Christopher Sarisky, Managing Director

Mr. Sarisky has over 25 years of experience in leveraged finance across risk management, restrucuturing and capital markets.  Prior to joining MID-SHIP Securities, Mr. Sarisky was the founder of CI Credit Partners where he advised and assisted lower middle market companies with financing strategies and debt restructuring.  From 2008-2011 he was the Director of Loan Trading at Bank of Nova Scotia where he managed all US loan trading activity for the bank's portfolio  and ran a secondary trading book.  From 1999-2007 he was a Vice President with Citibank where he helped build the distressed trading effort under the High Yield Group.  Over an eight year period in fixed income sales, he built relationships across all verticals of capital providers trading all forms of credit based products.   Prior to moving into capital markets roles he worked in restructuring and credit risk management with Dresdner Bank AG. Mr. Sarisky holds a Banking and Finance degree from Hofstra University and a law degree from Touro Law School.  He is a member of the NY Bar

Paul Tomashevsky, Managing Director 

Prior to joining MID-SHIP, Mr. Tomashevsky was a Director at Clarksons Capital Markets responsible for deal origination and execution in the maritime industry.  From 2008-2014 he was a Director at JP Morgan Investment Bank, executing transactions in maritime and the broader transportation industry, including equity/debt capital raising and advisory.  From 2006-2008 he was an Associate with the Transportation and Industrials coverage team at Bear Stearns.  Prior to Bear Stearns, he worked as an underwriter at CIT Group structuring asset based loan facilities across various industries.  Mr. Tomashevsky holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a BBA in Finance from Pace University.
